PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of displaying position information on the earth and on a map, which is not a latitude and longitude expression in the prior art, but a new method of expressing position information, and which facilitates a user to deal with the position information on the earth and on a map efficiently with regard to indication, recognition, input, data processing by a computer, etc., and to provide a map and coordinates using the method.;SOLUTION: The numeric values of the latitude and the longitude of an arbitrary position on a map are expressed in the decimal number system as a latitude corresponding numeric value OWP and a longitude corresponding numeric value OWQ on the basis of the following formulae: when the latitude numeric value is P and the longitude numeric value is Q, the latitude corresponding numeric value OWP=0.5+P/360, and the longitude corresponding numeric value OWQ=0.5+Q/360.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
