PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display method that includes recognizing characters in an image of document such as a questionnaire read with a scanner, and processing the image into a confirmation correction screen so that when the result of the recognition is displayed on a screen, pieces of significant information in a display area do not overlap. PSOLUTION: When the confirmation correction screen is displayed, a determination is made as to whether or not there are pieces of significant information in an area where they are to be displayed, so that pieces of significant information are displayed in parallel in the vicinity of a character-recognition position on the document image. If there are any pieces of significant information, the whole image is processed to secure a space in which the result of the recognition can be embedded. The result of the recognition is embedded in the secured area and displayed, and the area of the whole image without the pieces of significant information is displayed in reduced size.
