PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing water atomized powder, in which water atomized powder having high fluidity can efficiently be produced by providing a film relaxing the fictional resistance of the surfaces of respective grains, to provide water atomized powder produced by the method for producing water atomized powder, and to provide a method for producing a sintered compact which can produce a sintered compact having high density and excellent dimensional precision using the water atomized powder. PSOLUTION: The method comprises: a melting step where a raw material is melted, so as to obtain a molten metal 10; a powdering step where the molten metal 10 is powdered, so as to obtain aqueous suspension 30 comprising metal powder 20; and a dehydration step where an additive 40 comprising water-soluble organic amines is added to the obtained aqueous suspension 30, and thereafter, the aqueous suspension 30 is dried, so as to obtain water atomized powder 50 in which the respective grains of the metal powder 20 are covered with the components of the additive 40. In this way, the frictional resistance between the respective grains of the metal powder 20 is relaxed by the water-soluble organic amines, and the resistance of the surfaces is made low.
