PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gold alloy of ultralow melting point and extremely low casting shrinkage for use as a gold alloy for dental casting in particular.;SOLUTION: The alloy has a composition consisting of 30 to 80% gold, 5 to 10% each of indium and zinc, 1 to 6% copper, 0.1 to 3% tin, 0.01 to 5% platinum group element, 0.01 to 3% cobalt and the balance mainly silver, and the total content of indium and zinc is increased to 10 to 20% to obtain the low melting point. In this alloy, removal of the factors inhibiting compatibility are achieved as in the following: the melting point of the alloy is lowered; casting shrinkage and mold deformation are minimized; and the surface accuracy of casting surface is improved.
