PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and process for detecting substances contained in blotting membranes and positioning them.;SOLUTION: The present invention is related to a device that is advantegeous in detecting compounds on blotting membranes. The device comprises several layers housing a porous support below one or a plurality of blotting membranes; a flow distributor above the one or the plurality of blotting membranes, and arbitrarily a well on the flow distributor, to contain a liquid to a desired area and to allow for lower starting volumes for the liquid. Preferably, the flow divider is a non-binding or low-binding hydrophilic porous membrane, such as a 0.22 micron membrane. The support layer is a grid or sintered porous material. The flow distributor and the support are held together to form an envelope around the one or the plurality of membranes.
