PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object tracking apparatus which tracks an invading object, controls a TV camera so that an area which is not a monitoring object such as private houses or privacy etc. that is not a monitoring object of the TV camera for monitoring, is not included in a view of the TV camera, faithfully detects the object invading in the monitoring area and tracks it.;SOLUTION: The tracking method which tracks the invading object by an imaging device in which at least either of an imaging direction or a zoom can be controlled, takes in one frame of the image from the imaging device, detects an actual location of the invading object from the image, calculates a current or an expected view area of the imaging device, decides whether the calculated current or the expected view area includes a area where imaging is not allowed or not, controls at least either of the imaging direction or the zoom of the imaging device based on detected information about the invading object when it is not included, and displays alarm/tracking information after imaging the current or the expected view area by the imaging device.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
