This invention relates to a water-based liquid for applications in an oil field, including non-ionic surfactants, stable at temperatures in the range from 10 to 90 ° C, having HLB (hydrophilic-lipophilic balance) in the range from 8 to 20 and soluble in water, with a saline solution in the range from 0 to 60 wt.% and, possibly, salts. The fluid can easily be used as a completion fluid to prevent the formation of inverted water-in-oil emulsions, or as a correction fluid to break up already formed emulsions in oil wells that use oil-based drilling fluids.
