Method for dimensioning and adapting the drainage network of weirs and dams. Comprising seven stages in which a piezometric network is implemented, the uplift pressures are drawn on a diagram, the existing drains are cleaned, and a new diagram with up-to-date values is prepared, identifying zones with excessive uplift pressures. Geophysical tests performed in boreholes are used to determine the optimum depth of the new drains. These new drains are implemented, to reduce uplift pressures to acceptable values, only where they are necessary. If there is an excessive flow rate in a given drain, a waterproof barrier is created, in service, i.e. without emptying, using high-pressure viscous resin injections.
