The installation has a liquid crystal matrix (4) located on a light beam issuing from a light source (1) e.g. .LED. A retractable mirror (9) is oriented at 450 degrees with respect to an optical axis of a projection lens (7). An image analysis device (11) receives a digital image transmitted by the matrix, when the mirror is placed on an optical axis of the projection lens. The device processes signals detected using associated software for setting parameters of the light source and the matrix and for adjusting and controlling a focusing of the lens.
