The method involves disturbing an equilibrium state after replacement of the gas phase with new air or new inert gas. The equilibrium state is then transferred to another equilibrium state, so that the output and equilibrium data are recorded by measuring pressure and temperature. The concentration of atmospheric gases in the insulating liquid is determined with the respective measured pressure and temperature by a system of equations by the Henry-Dalton law. The measuring cycle is repeated in a predetermined time interval by a control- and evaluation unit. An independent claim is also included for a device for online monitoring of the atmospheric gases, particularly nitrogen and oxygen dissolved in insulating liquids of high voltage equipment.
