PURPOSE: A method for processing new messages and an apparatus therefor are provided to receive the new messages through a secured storage space by deleting messages through only the approval of a user.;CONSTITUTION: A UE(User Equipment)(10) transmits an SMS(Short Message Service) receive response signal including storage space shortage information to an SGSN(Serving GPRS Support Node)(32). The SGSN transmits a deletion command of stored short messages to secure a storage space to the UE.
