PURPOSE: A forward sensing apparatus for an adaptive cruise control system and a control method thereof are provided to reduce the e manufacturing cost and to increase the maximum sensing distance.;CONSTITUTION: A forward sensing apparatus(200) for an adaptive cruise control system is composed of a low frequency range radar distance sensor(210), an infrared laser distance sensor(220), and a forward sensing device controller(230).
