PURPOSE: A food garbage disposer and a method for operating the same are provided to dry food garbage stably by drying the food garbage continuously in an emergency like power outage, and to dry the food garbage effectively. CONSTITUTION: A food garbage disposer(1) includes a receiving part(200), a heating part(300), a duct part, a moisture sensor(500), a temperature sensor(600), and a control part(700). The receiving part is equipped on a holding plate(100). The temperature sensor detects the humidity of food garbage, and installed at the top of a main part(10). A button part(12) consists of a plurality of buttons on the front of the food garbage disposer. The food garbage is piled up on the receiving part.
