PURPOSE: A backlight unit and a liquid crystal display device having the same are provided to prevent the defective assembly caused by the bending of a light stopper when coupling a first grip to a second grip.;CONSTITUTION: A drive signal for driving a light source is applied to a first and second light source PCB(Printed Circuit Boards). Plural grips(170b) are mounted at the first and second light source PCBs, and are coupled to the both ends of the plural light sources. The grips include a light source stopper(176) and first and second stopper support portions(177a,177b). The light stopper prevents the movement of plural light sources in the length direction, and the first and second stopper support units enclose the external wall plane of the light source stopper.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
