PURPOSE: A biosensor containing enzyme fixation layer coated on a walled carbon nanotube electrode surface is provided to fix a large amount of enzyme and activate strong electrocatalyst activity. CONSTITUTION: A biosensor contains an enzyme fixation layer coated with mixture of ionic liquid-chitosan mixture on multi-walled carbon nanotubes deposited with gold particle. The ionic liquid is combination of anion and cation. A method for producing the biosensor comprises: a process of depositing Au on a multi-walled carbon nanotube electrode surface functioned with thiol group; a step of coating chitosan-ionic liquid mixture on the electrode surface to prepare a three dimensional enzyme fixation layer; and a step of fixing an enzyme on the enzyme fixation layer of the Au-deposited multi-walled carbon nanotube electrode. The enzyme is glucose oxidase, lactate oxidase, alcohol oxidase, or cholesterol oxidase.
