Uses: nuclear physics, nuclear energy, particularly in the control and safety systems of nuclear power reactors. Neutron detector includes a housing filled with a luminous gaseous medium and the fissionable material formed as a layer supported on a side surface of the housing. The technical result of the utility model is an extension of reactor neutron radiation detecting range by allowing the registration of the neutron flux density up to 10 6 cm -2 · s -1, which allows the use of a detector not only in the operating and fault conditions, followed by neutron flux densities in the range of 10 June -10 17 cm -2 · s -1, but in the starting mode of reactor operation.
