A paper/board web(W) passes through the last nip press of the machine press section sandwiched between a press felt(Hn) and a smooth faced transfer belt(H100) with good web adhesion properties. The web is transferred to the belt(H100) for passage through a first drying group(RI) supported on the belt face. The web is then passed to a conventional single draw wire(H2) in a second drying group(RII).
