The method involves coupling the light emitted from the light source in a plate shaped light conductor (111). A light shaping diffuser (109) is arranged between the light source and the light conductor. The light source and the diffuser are embedded together in a transparent material, which has the same optical refractive index. The light is limited in its exit angle by a fourth light shaping diffuser. An independent claim is included for a device for homogeneous and linear transillumination of transparent, analog information media.
