The method involves controlling exchange of message between two services using a clear trace identification of a message object stored in a metadata in a control layer (200) of distributed application of services (900), where the object comprises a format suitable for message exchange between the services over a message exchange system. A state machine is provided for defining a state of message exchange of the message object. A service query is produced through one of the services. The service query is transferred form the service to a service proxy. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program for controlling a communication in a distributed application of services (2) a machine readable data storage medium with a computer program for controlling a communication in a distributed application of services (3) a computer system for controlling a communication in a distributed application of services.
