The mechanism (10a) has a set of voltage supply cells (11a-11d) e.g. rechargeable batteries, connected in series, where a length (L) of the voltage supply cells depends on source voltage of individual voltage supply cells in such a manner that the voltage supply cells exhibit defined length independent of length of each individual voltage supply cell and independent of the source voltage of each individual voltage supply cell to provide same defined output voltage. The source voltage of each voltage supply cell depends on active metal of the cell.
