The method involves receiving of data, from which an actual position of a vehicle (12) is determined. An actual vehicle position is determined from the received data. A weather data and/or weather prediction data are received, and vehicle-internal sensor signals are considered. A control of a sub-system e.g. compressed air dryer (10), is modified based on the weather data and/or weather prediction data. The modification comprises of a plausibility test for testing whether the modification of the control of the sub-system is applicable.
