The X-ray source (2) has an electron source (6) emitting electron radiation (8), which is directed to a front side (10) of an annular thin-layer anode (12). An excitation center is produced in the anode, where X-ray emission is produced from the center. X-ray radiation bundles (22, 24) are formed from respective X-ray emission parts emerging from the respective front side and a rear side (20) of the anode. The rear side of the anode faces away from the electron radiation. The anode has a sandwich construction made of a support layer (14) and an anode layer (16) made of graphite and tungsten.
