The head has a rotor (11) supported at a stator (10) in a swivelable manner, and segments (12) for handling components (3) that are movably arranged at the rotor in a direction (Z) perpendicular to a level (E) of a substrate. An operating device e.g. camera-component (14), is attached to the stator, and a guide bar (15) for the segments is fixed at the stator. The guide bar is designed and arranged such that the segments are moved by the guide bar in the direction during rotation of the rotor, so that the components held by the segments are brought to an effective area of the operating device.
