The passenger seat (1) has an adjustable seat surface (8), a backrest (6), an arm rest, a seat belt, an auxiliary seat component, and a seat shell element (4) with two seat shells (2,3). The seat shell element is guided as adjustment device, and is assigned to the seat shell element. The former seat shell is adjusted against the latter seat shell by the adjustment device. An independent claim is also included for a method for adjusting a passenger seat.
