Device for marking of a painting, comprises a colored indicator incorporated in a painting, where the indicator is adapted to reveal a first color i.e. different from the basic color of the indicator under the action of a first revealing medium. Independent claims are included for: (1) a paint comprising a marking device in the form of a first marker; and (2) revelation of a marking device comprising a colored indicator incorporated in the paint, comprising recovering a shell of the paint and introducing the shell in the revelator.
