The unit (1) has an outer envelope formed of a flexible inlet sheet (2) and an outlet sheet, and filter media (5) associated to the envelope to form an inlet compartment of the fluid and an outlet compartment of filtrate. Inlet and outlet ports (10, 11) communicate with the inlet and outlet compartments. Additional inlet and outlet compartments (18, 19) are formed between the sheets, and have volume greater than 5 percentage of volume of the inlet and outlet compartments. The compartments (18, 19) communicate with the inlet or outlet compartment and the inlet or outlet ports, respectively. An independent claim is also included for a bag system, comprising a tube in communication with an inlet orifice and with fluid source.
