The device (1) has a recipient (2) containing a cosmetic product, and an applicator (4) forming a brush and including a rod (5) extended longitudinally along a longitudinal axis (Y-Y'). The recipient has a passage for accessing an inner side of the recipient. The passage has a wiping zone (10) that clears an eventual excess of the product in the applicator. The rod has flexibility higher than that of the wiping zone such that the rod is compressed by the wiping zone in a radial manner with respect to the longitudinal axis. The rod and the wiping zone are made of respective materials (11, 12). An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating a product applying device.
