Internal combustion diesel engine exhaust for use in motor vehicle, has reductive injector placed in branch connecting turbine of high pressure turbocharger with turbine of low pressure turbocharger
The exhaust has a high pressure turbocharger (20) including a turbine (26) connected to an exhaust manifold (8) by a pipe (30). A low pressure turbocharger (22) includes a turbine (28) connected to the manifold by another pipe (32). A branch (24) connects the turbines of the turbochargers. A gas flow adjusting throttle valve i.e. bypass flap (36), is arranged in the latter pipe. A reductive injector i.e. fuel injector (40), is placed in the branch connecting the turbines. The turbine of the low pressure turbocharger is connected to a gas exhaust line. An independent claim is also included for a method for regenerating a particle filter.
