The system has a rotating sensor (20) fixed at a support (14) for detecting a displacement of a brake pedal (1), where the brake pedal is connected to the support by a pivot (2). The sensor delivers continuously variable information on the current position of the brake pedal, over a displacement part, where the information is relative to starting of pedal course. A processing module (26) is connected to the sensor for receiving the information of the current position of the brake pedal.
