Process for preventing the detection and decoying of a thermal camera receiving the infra-red radiation coming from a laser source and consisting in placing in front of its detectors (d'1-d''1, d'2-d''2, ... d'n-d''n) or (d1, d2... dn) filtering elements ( f'1-f''1, f'2-f''2, ... f'n-f''nrespectively) or (ψ'1and ψ''1, ψ'2and ψ''2... ψ'nand ψ''nrespectively) carrying out the discrimination between the radiation coming from natural sources in the scene on the one hand and the radiation coming from a laser source at a well-specified wavelength on the other hand, and thus allowing the marking of the said source. The means of prevention from decoying consists in inhibiting the amplification circuits so that the camera is neither decoyed nor blinded. The marking is followed by the stoppage of the scanning of the camera. Application to the protection of thermal cameras.
