Apparatus for leak testing pressurized hoses

An apparatus for leak-testing a pressurized hose includes a hose-attaching member 10 which may be adapted to clamp around a hose to be leak tested. A bore may extend through the hose-attaching member. An internal annular cavity may extend coaxially around the bore. At least one of a detector probe hole and a detector probe 34 may be connected to the internal annular cavity. At least a portion of the bore may have a diameter which is at least one of substantially equal to and less than a diameter of a hose to be leak-tested. The detector probe may comprise a helium mass spectrometer 34. The hose attaching member may comprise a calibration hole 36 into which a calibrated leak device may be inserted. The calibrated leak device may emit a calibrated helium leak to calibrate the detector probe or may vary for emitting various types of calibrated substance leaks.
