PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool for machining screw rotors, capable of machining a large number of high-precision screw rotors having variable lead and tilt angles at low cost and in a short time without requiring enormous machining workload and thereby capable of supplying a large number of screw-type vacuum pumps at low cost, and a method of machining screw rotors using the same.;SOLUTION: This machine tool 200 for machining the screw rotors 120 includes a spindle 211, a headstock 210, a tool stock 220, a tool 221, a C-axis serving as a rotational axis of the spindle 211, X-, Z- and Y-axes serving as moving directions of the tool stock 220, an A-axis for adjusting a rake angle of the tool 221 with respect to a workpiece W to be machined by rotating the tool 221 in accordance with the lead angle of the screw rotor 120, and a numerical control means 230.
