PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bird damage-preventing device for an electric cable, not only enabling operation efficiency to be improved because the operation is simplified, but also enabling the operation to be carried out even at a site at which a vehicle for high lift work cannot be used, and to provide a method for attaching the device.;SOLUTION: The method for attaching the bird damage-preventing device for the electric cable includes attaching a reel 23 on which a bird damage-preventing wire 1 is wound to one supporting member in a pair of the supporting members 2a and 2b, passing the wire 1 taken out therefrom through a through hole 43 of an engaging cap 41 to be fitted to the intermediate member 3, winding the resultant wire on the other supporting member, arranging the pair of the supporting members and the intermediate member 3 in order on the electric cable W near to one utility pole D1 while connecting a cable 51 to the supporting member, fixing one supporting member to the electric cable so that the movement is impossible, drawing the wire from the other utility pole D2 side, allowing intermeshing 39 and 43 to intermesh the bird damage-preventing wire in the midway, moving the intermediate member in combination with the other supporting member to the other utility pole side by fixing the intermediate member to the bird damage-preventing wire, fixing the other supporting member to the electric cable near to the other utility pole so as not to be moved, and winding the end part of the bird damage-preventing wire on the other supporting member.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
