PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an ortho-metallized iridium complex coordinated with 3 organic ligands obtained by reacting iridium halide or its cross-linked dimer with the organic ligand, without adding a dehalogenating agent and basic compound, also without using a large excess of the organic ligand based on an iridium raw material, capable of producing in a high yield and high purity and further capable of producing a facial body selectively.;SOLUTION: This method for producing an ortho-metallized iridium complex coordinated with 3 organic ligands obtained by reacting iridium halide with an organic ligand such as 2-phenylpyridine derivative, etc., is provided by setting the mass amount of the organic ligand by ≥3 and 30 equivalents based on the iridium halide.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
