PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film comprising layers of a plurality of wavelength plates which are precisely layered with positional relations (layering angles) of optic axes as designed and hardly cause interlayer peeling, without requiring a complicated step such as cutting and laminating films or the like, to provide a circularly polarizing plate and an elliptically polarizing plate comprising the above optical film layered on a polarizing plate, and to provide a method for manufacturing the optical film.;SOLUTION: The optical film, the elliptically polarizing plate and the circularly polarizing plate comprise a plurality of layers of optical anisotropic layers, each layer comprising an optical alignment layer (A) having the liquid crystal alignment ability imparted by irradiation with light and a polymer layer (B) containing a liquid crystal compound having a polymerizable group and obtained by polymerizing in an aligned state by the above optical alignment layer (A), both layers coupled by covalent bonds.
