PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system that can enhance the sharpness and the uniformity of an image with high contrast and whose magnification is revised by deciding a optimum phase of a filter. ;SOLUTION: The method for generating an image is a method to generate an image with a predetermined output space resolution different from an input space resolution and a high contrast, and whose magnification is revised, from an input signal with the predetermined input space resolution, and includes a step where an output sample is generated from an input sample of the input signal, a step where a predetermined output sample that is occurred in excess of a predetermined time threshold after an input sample occurred most recently is detected among the output samples, a step where a detailed image in the input signal of the input sample occurred most recently among the input samples is detected, and a step where the location of a predetermined output sample among the output samples is moved by arranging it substantially side by side with the detailed image thereby emphasizing the contrast of the detailed image.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
