PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve an article suited to the needs of a customer out of a various kinds of articles. PSOLUTION: Needs information showing needs of the customer is set in a topic network with an article characteristic from a view point of the customer. An evaluation reference of a topic unit is set in the topic network, and total adaptation of indicating a degree of satisfaction with respect to the customer needs in the article is calculated in every of the article, based on the needs information and the evaluation reference set in the topic network, and an article specification. the article having the highest total adaptation is estimated to be the article most suited to the needs of the customer.
