B ADSORPTION PROCESS WITH VACUUM PRESSURE OSCILLATION FOR CO2 RECOVERY FROM A MULTICOMIPONENT GAS MIXTURE D The present invention relates in general to vacuum pressure oscillation adsorption processes and devices (VPSA) to recover CO ~ 2 ~ with a purity of approximately 242 molar currents containing at least CO ~ 2 ~ and H ~ 2 ~ (eg synthesis gas). The supply (24) in the CO ~ 2 ~ VPSA unit (30) may be at super-ambient pressure. The CO ~ 2 ~ VPSA unit produces three streams, a H ~ 2 ~ rich stream (32), a H ~ 2 ~ poor stream (34) and a CO ~ 2 ~ product stream (36). When the CO ~ 2 ~ VPSA unit is installed between a SMIR / displacement reactor (16, 20) and an H2 PSA unit (28), H ~ 2 ~ recovery is expected to be increased by extracting CO ~ 2 ~, thereby increasing the partial pressure of H ~ 2 ~ in the PSA supply of H ~ 2 ~. The recovered CO ~ 2 ~ can be further improved, sequestered or used in applications such as advanced oil recovery (EOR).
