The invention relates to a method for verifying the identity of a user of a website, comprising of creating in a database a record comprising a set of personal data of the user and user name of the user for at least one website, verifying the set of personal data in the database on the basis of a physical identification means such as a passport of the user, designating the set of personal data in the database as verified if the set of personal data corresponds with the identification means, the user entering the log-in data on the at least one website, the at least one website consulting the database and the at least one website providing the user with access to determined services if the set of personal data associated with the log-in data is designated as verified.
