Disclosed is the use of an aryl amine in the manufacture of a medicament for treating or reducing the symptoms of schizophrenia, wherein the compound is of formula 1: wherein R1, R2 and R2', R3 and Y are defined in the specification, X is CO or SO2, and q is 0 or 1; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
