Method for measurement of wind velocity by method of radio location of meteor bursts by signals of telecasting that includes measurement of rate of displacement of reflecting areas of meteor bursts, thus velocity of motion of air masses by means of Doppler effect as well. One uses as probing signals existing signals of telecasting that are emitted with tele-transmitters of I II frequency ranges that are placed in radius up to thousand kilometers from point of reception.
