A method for forecasting the harmfulness level of a currant buprestid beetles (Lepidoptera, Tortricidae) includes a procedure of carrying out physiological analyses on pest populations. In early spring, in the reactivation period of the buprestid beetles, selecting and cutting shoots and branches are carried out from black currant bushes, with the further dissection thereof. At least 50 larvae of the buprestid beetles are selected, and the level of infection thereof by disease pathogens and entomophages is determined. The parasitizing level of adult individuals of buprestid beetles with mite is determined. If the rate of infection of larvae with disease pathogens and entomophages does not exceed 11-16 %, and the level of infection of imago with mite is 5-8 %, the population of the currant buprestid beetles is characterized as the one that really creates a threat of significant harmfulness to berry fields.
