A system and method for improving the quality of teaching in educational institutions has been disclosed. The system (100) aims at providing corrective measures to improve the teaching-learning process from the point of view of 'Students' The system (100) stores a plurality of questions based on various teaching parameters in a first repository (104) and creates and displays a feedback form which is filled by the students. Each of the questions in the feedback form is assigned a pre-determined weight and pertains to at least one teaching parameter. This weight enables the system (100) to compute a score for teachers teaching parameter-wise, department-wise or educational institution-wise. Based on this score various color coded and color graded reports are generated by the present invention which enable the teachers to understand their strengths and weaknesses, to improve their teaching quality and the management to understand the overall performance of the educational institution to improve the institutions standard.
