A method for enhancing the efficiency of a radio frequency power amplifier and an efficiency enhancing circuit thereof are disclosed. The method detects a current or power by a detection circuit (1), then generates a control signal by a control circuit (2) to adjust the bias circuit (3) of the radio frequency power amplifier, thus progressively alleviating the radio frequency power amplifier's current rise with the input power, or, alleviating the current rise with the input power when the current or the power reaches a certain value. When improving the efficiency of the radio frequency power amplifier, this solution can also effectively improve the linearity of the radio frequency power amplifier, and this solution can be used in combination with the prior efficiency enhancing technologies to better improve the efficiency of the radio frequency power amplifier.
