The invention relates to a method for recycling aluminium from drink cans, in which the drink cans are comminuted to small particles in a shredder (6) and the particles are first cleaned of adhering drink residues and subsequently cleaned of adhering paint residues. The first cleaning stage is a spinning stage in a centrifuge (9). The second downstream cleaning stage is a thermal burning-off stage in a furnace (13). Finally, the thermally cleaned particles are melted in a melt vessel (15).
