The invention, which relates to a method for the closed-loop control of a buck converter, in which an inductance, which is connected in series with a load and has an output voltage drop across said inductance, is switched to an input voltage in a manner which is subject to open-loop control using a pulse train, which has a pulse rate and is pulse-width modulated, in order to adjust the absolute value of the output voltage, and also to an arrangement with a closed-loop control input and with an open-loop control output, with an analogue-to-digital converter, a nonlinear amplifier, an IIR filter and a pulse-width modulation circuit being connected between said input and output, is based on the problem of enabling a rapid response to a load transient, as a result of which the closed-loop control of the output voltage at a buck converter is performed more quickly and with little overshoot. This is solved in that the sample rate is set higher than the pulse rate and the pulse width of the pulse train is adjusted during the period thereof.
