PURPOSE: A hybrid arc plasma discharge device for synthesizing a single wall carbon nano tube is provided to suppress impurities like amorphous carbon and nano particles by controlling the synthesizing time of carbon gas to a carbon nano tube. CONSTITUTION: A graphite electrode(20) is arranged in a reaction chamber(10) in a row to evaporate carbon by generating an arc discharge. A collecting tube(30) is installed to surround a part of the graphite electrode. The collecting tube protects the discharged arc. The collecting tube collects carbon nano tube synthesized by cooling and condensing carbon gas evaporated from the graphite electrode. A heater(40) is installed on the outer side of the collecting tube. The heater delays the growing time of the carbon nano tube by heating the inside of the collecting tube.
