Cosmetic Composition for Protecting the Skin Comprising the Extract of Magnolia Sieboldii

PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing Magnolia sieboldii extract is provided to ensure less skin irritation, and high antibacterial activity and stability. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition contains Magnolia sieboldii extract as a natural antiseptic. The Magnolia sieboldii extract is obtained by extracting with water, hydrous or anhydrous low alcohol of 1-4 carbon atoms, acetone, ethyl acetate, chloroform or 1,3-butyleneglycol. A method for extracting Magnolia sieboldii extract comprises: a step of adding water, hydrous or anhydrous low alcohol of 1-4 carbon atoms, acetone, ethylacetate, butylacetate or 1,3-butyleneglycol to the Magnolia sieboldii; a step of performing reflux of Magnolia sieboldii to extract the Magnolia sieboldii for 4 to 6 hours; and a step of filtering and drying. The cosmetic composition is used in the form of lotion, emulsion, essence, gel, pack, cleansing cream, or foam cleansing.
