FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: described is a composition for producing granules of natural glauconite, which is a plastic mass of loamy glauconite with moisture content of 15-30% and density from 1.1 to 1.6 g/cm³, containing a ballast fraction which contains quartz in amount of not more than 0.5%. The invention also describes natural glauconite granules consisting of loamy glauconite containing a ballast fraction which contains quartz in amount of not more than 0.5%. Described is a method of preparing the disclosed composition for producing natural glauconite granules, involving grinding glauconitic sand to particle size 30-60 mcm, turning the ground glauconitic sand into liquid, settling the obtained suspension until separation of the suspension into a layer of quartz-containing glauconite and a layer of loamy glauconite dissolved in the liquid, separation of the layer of loamy glauconite, dehydration thereof to moisture content 15-30% and density from 1.1 to 1.6 g/cm³.;EFFECT: obtaining an intermediate product - a plastic mass, an end product - natural glauconite granules, characterised by high sorption properties without using a structured binder.;7 cl, 8 tbl
