The device i.e. jet engine (1), has three to six water nozzles (2) mounted in an elongate combustion chamber. The water nozzles supply water under high pressure into a turbine outlet in the chamber such that dense, oxygen-less fog (3) is produced. The fog is sprayed on fire.
